Subcomittee Responsibilities

Infrastructure Committee:
  • Assist in drafting and obtaining consensus on the comprehensive substance abuse prevention strategic plan for the SPF
  • Assist in recommending strategies that will help the state build a stronger prevention  infrastructure that will increase the use of evidence-based practices, communication, and data sharing
  • Assist in establishing and/or reviewing criteria for the SPF sub granting process
  • Make recommendations for building stronger partnerships across existing community coalitions, organizations, agencies, schools, and other partners
  • Assist in strengthening the role of the EPC to be a more collaborative body through monitoring by-laws, cross-agency programming, training , and other means

 

Data
  • Review the SEOW data and assist in identifying priorities for the SPF SIG
  • Assist in facilitating more cross-agency data sharing
  • Recommend strategies for assisting local communities in collecting and interpreting prevention data
  • Assist in identifying and helping to make available various data sets that would be beneficial to prevention programs

Environmental
  • Identify resources for implementing environmental strategies
  • Assist in identifying and designing public awareness campaign messages to address environmental issues relative to substance abuse
  • Assist in advocating for policy changes relative to laws, practices, and norms that condone substance use and abuse


Underage Drinking
  • Assist in monitoring the state’s underage drinking prevention plan
  • Assist in identifying and sharing best practices for underage drinking prevention
  • Work in concert with the environmental subcommittee on environmental strategies to address underage drinking
